TEDx Talks | Seeds of Sustainability: Illusion of Impact | Nala Amirah | TEDxLSPR @TEDx | Uploaded 1 day ago | Updated 1 day ago
As sustainability becomes more apparent in our daily lives, distinguishing between performative actions and genuine impact has gotten more challenging. At TEDxLSPR, Nala Amirah explores the gap between action and impact, and how we often focus on less urgent issues. Nala herself is pursuing a Bachelor's in Environment and Development at Ritsumeikan APU, Japan, she also founded Green Welfare Indonesia at 15—a youth-led NGO promoting eco-social action through climate education, community empowerment, and nature-based solutions. She actively participates in global climate policy, serving as a youth delegate at the T20 Summit (G20 Indonesia 2022) and the UN 28th Climate Conference (COP28). Join Nala as she shares her journey in leading a climate-driven community and inspires us to evaluate sustainability through both seen and unseen impacts. Nala Amirah is an incoming penultimate-year student pursuing a Bachelor's in Environment and Development at Ritsumeikan APU Japan, in which her major studies includes Environmental Economics, ESG Policies, and Development Sociology. To leverage her academic interests and passion for social work in the sustainability sphere, Nala has also founded Green Welfare Indonesia at the age of 15, a locally renowned youth-led NGO pioneering eco-social action through climate education, community empowerment, and nature-based solutions. With 100+ regenerative members & 85,000+ youths engaged digitally and practically, Nala's organization has become a powerhouse for collective action. She is active in global climate policy fora and was appointed as a youth delegate at the T20 Summit (G20 Indonesia 2022) and the UN 28th Climate Conference (COP28). She has also spoken on global stages for the EU, UNEP, UNHCR, ITU, OXFID, TEDx and was nominated as UN Women’s 30 for 2030 inaugural cohort. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx
