The H9769 dual control thermostatic shower mixer has been specifically designed for infection control; a primordial need in healthcare facilities.
The most important thing about this mixer is that, unlike conventional thermostatic mixers, it doesn’t have any non-return valves.
Non-return valves are supposed to prevent any crossflow between the hot and cold water that may occur due to the effect of pressure, but which can create favourable conditions for bacterial growth.
However, the non-return valves are not reliable over time and, sooner or later, will generate bacterial development.
This mixer has a very specific design with the cold water and hot water closing directly at the inlets, making non-return valves completely unnecessary.
There is no specialist maintenance needed and no cross flow between the hot and cold water systems.
It meets the French Medical standard and is currently certified.
This mixer has also been designed to reduce the volume of water inside the body to an absolute minimum, while still reducing the risk of bacterial development.
This thermostatic mixer provides complete anti-scalding safety.
Thanks to the thermostatic cartridge, the temperature is stable regardless of pressure and flow rate variations in the system.
There is also a double temperature limiter on this mixer: the first limiter is set at 38°, and a second one set at 41° so the user cannot override it and scald themselves.
The thermostatic carridge guarantees optimal anti-scalding safety. If the cold water supply fails, the hot water shuts off instantly so the user can’t scald themselves.
Finally, this mixer has thermal insulation; hot water is never in contact with the walls of the mixer body, so there is no risk of the user burning themselves if they touch the mixer body.
It also has a thermal shock feature which is important for hospitals in the fight against Legionella. Here a thermal shock is easy to do, simply press the small red button on the lever to override the temperature limiter and do a thermal shock at the maximum hot water temperature of the system.
