The 2621EP basin mixer is specifically designed for infection control in healthcare facilities.
One of the main reasons for bacterial growth is water stagnation in mixers and taps. It was designed to keep water volumes inside its body to a minimum, and it doesn’t have a spout. The spout outlet is integrated within the mixer body.
This lack of spout is a major advantage because by removing it, we reduce the area that’s most sensitive to bacterial development since this is where air and water mix. The spout outlet is made from Hostaform®, the inside is smooth, there’s nowhere for bacteria or scale to adhere ... so we reduce the development of germs in moisture.
This mixer also meets the user’s need for anti-scalding safety and comfort.
As with all DELABIE’s healthcare mixers, it has a maximum temperature limiter, so users can’t scald themselves. We know the system is open in healthcare facilities and there are always pressure drops and, therefore, temperature variations, that’s why this mixer has an integrated pressure-balancing cartridge to avoid the inevitable pressure variations and have a stable temperature. The advantage of this system is increased anti-scalding safety. If the cold water supply fails, the hot water flow reduces, removing the risk of scalding for the user.
This mixer also has a thermal shock feature. This is very important, as we know that hospitals regularly have thermal shocks to prevent Legionella. A thermal shock is easy to do, simply press the red button behind the lever to override the temperature limiter and move to the thermal shock position; no need to remove the lever, no need to shut off the water supply.
It has a stylish design, with no spout. It also won a German Design Award. It has a drop height of 95mm for optimal hand washing; its flow rate is 5 litres per minute. This mixer also meets the French Medical standard.
