Are you bored of clearly defined, easy to follow trails? Do you want to feel like you’re bushwhacking while your gps shows you’re “on trail”? Are you looking to give your epidermis more character by adding bruises, cuts, scratches and general abrasions? If you answered yes then you came to the right place. Welcome to “The Secret Mountain Trail”. This hike is 11&1/2 miles round trip. 2106 feet of elevation gain. No water sources. What makes this hike challenging is the amount of fallen trees blocking the trail. The trail isn’t too bad up to the Secret Cabin. After that it gets more overgrown and hard to follow. Be sure to give yourself extra time. Long pants and sleeves are recommended. If you’re up to the challenge of this rugged terrain you’ll be rewarded with some epic vistas.
P.S. About a 1/4 from the trailhead a couple trees are blocking the road. You can drive around them on the left.
