SeaWorld teamed up with The Coca-Cola Company, Audubon Florida, and The Everglades Foundation to replenish freshwater in the drying Everglades. The Everglades is a very unique, but productive environment that caters to those around it. Stephen Davis, Senior Ecologist for The Everglades Foundation, tells us that the joint effort in restoring the Everglades helped individuals understand not only the value of water in our everyday human lives and landscapes but also to places such as the Everglades where invasives have taken over. By removing the harmful invasives and putting natural vegetation back in, the project will restore 37 million gallons of water to the Everglades. The partnerships allowed the word to spread about the drying environment and the need to replenish it. It also strengthened The Everglades Foundation’s voice for the need for conservation methods in the ecosystem. SeaWorld’s partnership has been a vital part of the project and helped inspire the building of Infinity Falls.
