Sean Corcoran, a great Irish singer and musician, recently passed away after a short illness. He was probably best known for his singing and bouzouki playing as a member of the trio "Cran", with whom he made a few recordings. I had the pleasure of meeting Sean, and enjoying his singing on several occasions, and booked "Cran" to play at Aberdeen Folk Club in 1987.
He could handle the "big" ballads as well as anyone, but also had a fondness for "comical" songs, which perfectly matched his personality. Here's an example from a great night's music that night in Aberdeen.
RIP.
