Dutch Sheets claims that biblical revelation originates in the human heart, and he uses John 6:63 to support his claim that this heart revelation brings “spirit and life.” This passage clearly states that the words themselves are spirit and life; they don’t become spirit and life through a secondary revelation experience. The Holy Spirit comes to us through the Word of God, and Scripture is God’s binding and authoritative revelation. Singularly speaking, the Bible is revelation; the problem is unbelief, and not a lack of revelation. Bob shows that this is like the denial of divine revelation’s objectivity in the Genesis 3 account of the Fall.
