Many of those discoveries have even come from Christians. To say all of that is off-limits would be like saying we can’t use medicine to treat cancer or technology to support our families—just because those things aren’t explicitly mentioned in Scripture.
When we apply this idea specifically to mental health, it becomes even more damaging. Christian Clinicians with an understanding of biology, brain science, and social behavior aren’t rejecting the Bible—they’re using tools that help us understand people better across generations, cultures, and time. Everything is taken in through the lens of the Bible, not the other way around. Scripture gives us a foundation, but it doesn’t prohibit growth in knowledge—it models it. Wisdom is something we build upon and pass on through generations. That, too, reflects the heart of God.
