If you trace the lineage of modern faith healing movements, you don't have to look back very far to find figures like William Branham and the era of tent revivals. In these settings, attendees were often convinced they had received a miraculous healing.
However, this belief came with a dangerous expectation: they were pressured to "demonstrate their faith" to validate the miracle. Consequently, many people felt compelled to stop seeking medical care and cease taking necessary life-saving medications. The tragic reality is that this theology did not lead to health; it led to preventable deaths.
