The northwestern fringe of Rocky Mountain National Park is far from the crowds, and hosts one of the best ridge scrambles in the park: the east ridge of Static Peak in the Never Summer Mountains. I tacked on a tundra stroll up nearby Lulu Mountain, which has truly one of the best summit views anywhere in the state, with the exceptionally jagged Never Summers looming close and sweeping mountain views in all directions. Along the way American Lakes, Snow Lake, and Thunder Pass accentuate nature’s show.
