The first season offered us SciFi-Prime as SciFi Channel's foray into new, innovative and fresh prime time programming on the Friday night block that would directly compete with the likes of TGIFriday and the other more well known Friday night primetime blocks. They plyed the primetime block with some heavy hitters. The Francis Ford Coppola backed "First Wave", a quirky Henson and O'Bannon created "Farscape" and the final season of the once vaunted Fox scifi hit "Sliders". To introduce us to these strange new shows the channel provided us a hostess and the SciFi-Prime block was not just a viewing experience it was an in-flight journey on a starship filled with quirky characters and strange sights. We were to buckle our seatbelts and hold on for the ride into SciFi-Prime and this fresh faced, plucky hostess would guide us through each and every minute of the journey. Those were indeed the days.
