2000 Advertisement for the premiere of the independant short film showcase program Exposure. The program was phenomenal in that it showed scifi and fantasy short films from a variety of independant directors and often from other countries. Films that would have not been shown to the masses otherwise. This groundbreaking show would give the channel the idea to boldy create "Exposure Studios" which was a collaborative effort of the SciFi Channel and independant film makers to get fresh and bold new shorts out into the market for viewing. Other channels caught on to the popularity of independant short fillms and launched their own programs but they were merely pale imitations and unfortunately Exposure only lasted two seasons before it was cancelled. The legacy would live on with two film contests until the SciFi Channel completely moved away from its bold direction to take a more staid and patterned approach to its programming.
