Ana Mo Shoshin | Sci Fi September Prompts Vlog | Using prompts to pick Sci Fi books! | Vintage sci fi, mind reading @AnaMoShoshin | Uploaded October 2023 | Updated October 2024, 21 minutes ago.
Hi, I’m Mo.
September is over, so it's time to wrap up the Sci Fi September content!!
Sci fi Sept was created by @booksaremysociallife and I really enjoyed it that year. In 2022, I didn't see anyone doing prompts for it, so I created my own, for inspiration! You can find that video here: youtu.be/_KNQGvccQ08
This year, I realized they would also make a great tag, too! If you haven't done that yet, go here: youtu.be/TR6F_oopihs
This year I also wanted to use the prompts to help pick my Sci Fi reading, so I made this vlog!!
What did you read this September? What are some of your go to Sci Fi sub genres or categories?
There are 8 prompts that correlate with the 8 planets of our solar system, plus a bonus prompt. Feel free to use them as inspiration for your sci reading, in sept and always! Of course prompts can be combined, stretched, reimagined, as you see fit!
Mercury - A short sci fi book, novella or short story (perfect to fit for #shortyseptember readathon put on by @pastorytime2683 )
Venus - A sci fi romance or book about twins
Earth - a sci fi comfort read
Mars - Sci fi book with red on the cover or featuring Mars or Martians
Jupiter - A sci fi horror
Saturn - Sci fi that's part of a series or that is set in space (this could be a great prompt to combine with #spaceoperaseptember)
Uranus - Sci fi book out of your comfort zone
Neptune - Water themed sci fi
Bonus: The Sun - Classic sci fi book or author
I got a lot of my planet info and images from here: astrobackyard.com/planets-in-order
Thanks for joining me today! I try to post videos three times a week. I post about creative simple living in NJ: books, cats, zero waste, sustainability, productivity, beach life, and more!
Books in this video:
Killfile (2017) Christopher Farnsworth
Redshirts (2012) John Scalzi
Exit Stategy (2018) Martha Wells
