Apart from the Alpine-Piastri and Ricciardo-McLaren sagas, with the latter one being solved after both sides agreed to end the contract prematurely, one potential saga has emerged from recent events in the HAAS team. According to reports, Steiner and HAAS executives aren’t satisfied with how Mick Schumacher has been performing overall in HAAS, although he scored his first career points this season by finishing P8 and P6 in Silverstone and Austria respectively. Nevertheless, the team now has more options on their table, which is why we might see some huge shake-up when it comes to their lineup. Want to find out what Steiner said about Schumacher and the future of HAAS? Stick around until the end of this video.
Mick Schumacher has debuted in F1 in 2021, and in his second year, he managed to establish himself as a better and more prolific driver for HAAS. However, in his first year, the expectations were really high because Schumacher’s teammate, Mazepin, was constantly being outscored by the German by a margin as big as 3 seconds. Therefore, the F1 world thought that in the right car, which HAAS was everything but not the right car at that moment, Mick would be a “killer” on the field. When 2022 started, we’ve seen Magnussen stepping up the game as he replaced Mazepin in HAAS, and Mick has failed to follow on most occasions.
