After a 3 year hiatus and unfortunate losses, ScHoolboy Q is back with a record that serves as multiple attempts at closure. Whether that means finding inner peace or putting demons on display, Q has never sounded this exhausted - and not in a bad way.
He wears emotional weight on his sleeve here, slowly losing his typical "ScHoolboy energy" after each of the 3 takes. Because of this pattern, the record feels like Q reattempting to find purpose or drive again. This is one of his more interesting projects, hiding much more heart under the guise of bravado, violence, and luxury.
RIP Mac Miller
RIP Nipsey Hussle
