We all know Lunchables - but should this ultra-processed food be served to kids in school? The US federal government has approved Lunchables as nutritious enough to be served in schools across America, either purchased by students or given for free by school districts as part of the National School Lunch Program.
With this deal, Kraft-Heinz's reformulated Lunchables are set to become a staple in cafeterias around the country. Is this okay? Is this really the best we can do for the kids? Who's getting the kick back on this? We'll look at how the food industry uses semantics and word-play, and investigate the new Lunchables that meet "whole grain rich criteria".
