This weekend’s challenge of the Facebook „Hardware Jams“ group was to jam on a nursery rhyme. I chose a german traditional „Wiegenlied“ - „Schlaf, Kindchen, Schlaf“. This song is about a mother singing a lullaby for her child, she sings about a perfect, peaceful world so that the child falls asleep easily and won’t have bad dreams.
I tried to integrate it in a dark electro setting. Well. I tried at least… Some parts work quite well, others… ;)
I feel like I am starting to get a hold on Launchpad Pro mk3 as an external sequencer and as master clock. LP is sequencing the Microfreak with one track and the electribe with the filter bass sequence, the rest of the sounds is added by the TR-8, that plays on it’s own sequencer.
Koala sampler is one of my favourit music apps on iOS, I used it to drown my bad singing into massive effects… Still have to work out how to synch it, when I don’t have Ableton running in parallel. In this jam it is running free - that brings a bit of chaos in...
Recording on the Zoom R16, a bit of mastering has been added in Ableton Live in post.
This time I tried to work with two cameras - this brought the capabilities of Ableton to it’s limits, video footage is a bit out-of-sync. Will have to dig into a different video workflow, I guess.
