lovely listeners...even though i didn’t write these lyrics (this track is originally by alessia cara), they truly hold so much meaning for me. the struggles expressed are struggles that i’ve known all too well, especially having grown up here in los angeles where outer appearance is often valued far more than it should be. honestly, the message in the lyrics is a beautiful one, but it’s difficult for me to absorb much of the time. however, as the song also says, “there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark.” i interpret this to mean that there’s always hope, no matter how long the struggle is, & i will continue to hold on to that. i hope you will, too. xo, r
