This is an interesting trailer as Grindhouse never ended up having a wide release here. This trailer was recalled fairly early during promotion when the decision was made to release Planet Terror and Death Proof as separate features.
The given reason was that Australia (and other non-US release markets)never really had Grind houses that showed exploitation movies double features so the cultural aspect might have been lost on international audiences. Others were quick to point out this did nothing but allow the studio to potentially double ticket sales.
Whatever the reason this trailer was pulled from circulation before release and the Grindhouse double feature as it was intended to be seen by the directors would only be screened in limited engagements at various independent theatres across the country.
This is my first scan in scope aspect with anamorphic correction and it came out really well. Its also the first trailer where I have used used colour channel Booleans to make the cyan soundtrack black before export and the noise floor has really improved a lot. I have also corrected the L-R channel swap.")
