We are huge supporters of law enforcement and are so grateful for their service, so when we learned about a 10 year old who runs in honor of fallen officers, we knew we had to meet him!
Meet Zechariah Cartledge of Running for Heroes. Not only does he use his voice to support law enforcement, he runs a mile in honor of those who lost their lives in the line of service to others. Zechariah runs with an American flag with the thin blue line and raises funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in honor of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
Zechariah, we are so very proud of you and thank you for all you do! You are making such a positive impact in our world and we can't wait to see all you'll continue to do!
On behalf of our Official Partner, Lazer Werk, we were proud to present Zechariah with two custom engraved memorial bracelets. One bracelet is in honor of Officer Allen Jacobs who lost his life while serving with the Greenville Police Department. Chief Ken Miller of the Greenville Police Department met with Zechariah on this trip and personally thanked him for honoring those who served.
The second memorial bracelet given to Zechariah is in honor of Master Deputy Devin Hodges who lost his life while serving with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office SC. (With Chad McBride, Sheriff)
Zechariah, thank you so much for running in honor of each of these heroes! We know this will mean so much to their families and to the Departments they served!
