Humans require a healthy Nature for our own societal health. But our current economic growth system is conducting a war on Nature. This economic system regards the natural world as a free a commodity to be chopped down, dug up, captured and hauled away for processing. Nature is free to destroy as long as it is making someone a profit.
Over 60% of Earth's wildlife has been lost since the 1970s from human encroachment into natural habitats. If we give space back to Nature, animal populations can recover and even flourish. If not, we will be responsible for the extinction of life on our planet, including human life.
While other animals fade from the Earth, our numbers are swelling. Over 7.8 billion people live on our planet now, together with the livestock we harvest for food, endangering all life on Earth through the destruction of the natural world.
