To protect a photovoltaic installation, especially PV strings, against reverse currents, your best bet is to implement a DC combiner box with cylindrical gPV fuses between the PV modules and central inverter.
Our new fuse holders for cylindrical fuse-links were created with the user in mind. They offer great versatility, as they enable us to use the same combiner boxes for different photovoltaic systems.
Why? Because you can fit our entire 1500V gPV fuse-link range, with rated currents from 2 amperes to 63 amperes, into the same size fuse holder.
How? We kept all our 1500V cylindrical gPV fuse-links in the same 14mm diameter version, saving 8mm of space per fuse-link. This way, they fit nicely into a 21mm fuse holder, saving 13mm of space per fuse, when compared to other similar products on the market. This means up to 45% less space needed in the combiner box and up to 55% lower enclosure cost.
Our EFH fuse holders also come in a version with LED indicator and a possibility of remote indication, can be sealed and have a two-position snapper. They come in two versions, the regular one for fuse-links up to 40 amperes, and the T- version for tandem fuse-links with rated current up to 63 amperes.
In short – if you wish to keep your PV powerplant safe, the protection of PV strings is necessary. The best protection in such cases are gPV fuses.
