As a 29-year-old lawyer new to living in New York City, Sarah Vacchiano was thrust into the world of Big Law, eventually representing media-described “Poker Princess” Molly Bloom—the inspiration for Aaron Sorkin’s Academy Award-nominated film “Molly’s Game.”
Over a decade later, Vacchiano and Bloom remain close friends, and their relationship is the true star of Vacchiano’s contemporary fiction book “Soft Launch,” released earlier this year.
“She’s the thread of my own coming-of-adulthood story,” Vacchiano says about Bloom. “I didn’t know myself as a person. I didn’t even know myself as like a friend at that point in adulthood... Our friendship really helped me grow into myself as a person.”
