Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today, we're cruising with some of the hottest lowriders in town. These cars are proud displays of Mexican-American heritage.
Lowriding began in the Mexican-American neighborhoods of Los Angeles in the 1940s. It was a way for young Chicanos to express their creativity and assert their identity.
Lowriders are famous for their hydraulic suspension systems that can make the cars bounce, hop, and dance. But they're also stunningly beautiful. Each car is a unique work of art, with custom paint jobs, intricate murals, and sparkling chrome.
Today, we're joining the annual Cinco de Mayo lowrider parade through the streets of San Francisco The community lines the streets, cheering and taking pictures as the lowriders cruise by.
