Consistent with our Critical Incident Video Release Procedure, SAPD is releasing video from an Officer Involved Shooting that occurred on May 29, 2026. Below is a brief synopsis:
At 1:24 p.m., a call came out at the 2900 block of Chihuahua St. for a Wanted Individual with felony warrants. When officers arrived, the suspect ran from officers and was shot during the chase. A handgun was recovered in the same location where the suspect was shot. The 31-year-old male suspect was transported to the hospital.
The officer involved has under 2 years of service with the San Antonio Police Department, as listed below. The SAPD Shooting Team and the Internal Affairs Unit will conduct separate but concurrent inquiries. As with all officer involved shootings, the District Attorney’s Office is reviewing this incident.
