Happy Halloween! Here's a rare example of a local horror host from days gone by - a portion of a broadcast of the made-for-TV movie "The Night Strangler" (originally broadcast January 16th 1973 over the ABC Network) as aired on the show of the long-running horror movie host Sammy Terry (get it?) (played by Bob Carter from the show's 1962 debut until his retirement in 2010; the show was mostly known as Nightmare Theater) on WTTV Channel 4 in Bloomington/Indianapolis, IN.
Along with "The Night Stalker" [1972], this was popular enough to lead to the short-lived 1974-75 series Kolchak: The Night Stalker; in this installment, investigative reporter Carl Kolchak (Darren McGavin) digs deep into a series of murders committed apparently by someone with superhuman strength - but who'd long been dead. Also co-stars Simon Oakland, Jo Ann Pflug and Richard Anderson (this was before The Six Million Dollar Man came a-callin' for the last-named of that bunch).

Costumed characters appearing to greet (and possibly freak-out) your children include Geoffrey, Gigi, and Baby Gee, Donkey Kong, He-Man and Skeletor, Strawberry Shortcake, and Spider-Man.
