Anne Simpson was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She earned her private pilot’s license in 1975 at the age of 20, completing her written and practical test in 30 days. Anne was hired by Northwest Airlines in 1981 as their third woman pilot. Her 35 year career at Northwest and Delta Air Lines began as a 727 second officer followed by 727 first officer, A320 captain, 747-400 Capt. and she retired back in Seattle as an A330 Captain.
During her years as a professional airline pilot, Anne raised two children, enjoyed many years on the Northwest and Delta ski teams. as well as being an active board member for the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Today Anne and her husband, Charlie spend most of their time in Hailey Idaho where they ski, hike and fly their helicopter.
