Sam Lanin and his Orchestra (as the Missouri Jazz Band) play "Stomp Off, Let's Go", with fine solos/breaks and nice relaxed ensemble playing. One of the best (and hottest) Lanin sides of this period.

The personnel is somewhat speculative, but I think reasonably accurate. I'm not absolutely 100% sure that the trombonist here is Miff Mole, even though the solo is very Mole-like! The discographies state that there is only one trumpet present. The omission is a bit unusual as the stock arrangement would have called for two trumpets, so Nichols has his work cut out!

This is a late acoustic side and the Plaza recording equipment leaves a lot to be desired. The rather gritty surface and the fact that my copy grades at about V+ don't exactly help matters, but the quality of the music makes up for these technical deficiencies!
