This poor Commodore 64 "breadbin" has seen better days—it's smashed, cracked, and missing keys. But its heart is still beating! In this video, we are performing a transplant. I'm harvesting the legendary 6581 SID chip from this busted donor unit and giving it a new home in the incredible Ultimate 64.

Watch as I extract the vintage silicon and install it into the ZIF sockets of the modern replacement board to get that authentic analog sound. Is it worth the effort to save the original chip? Let's find out.
