We head east on US 50 from Salida, CO. This highway winds its way through dramatic canyons and scenic valleys along the Arkansas River on the way to Canon City, CO. Just before reaching Canon City, we take a side trip on Skyline Drive. This single-lane road follows a hogback ridge. It offers views of Canon City and the plains beyond on one side, and the Rocky Mountains on the other side. We then descend into Canon City and take a drive through town.
