Saguaro National Park is within Southern Arizona's Sonoran Desert. The Sonoran Desert is the most biologically diverse of any desert on earth. Saguaro cactus contribute a great deal to that biodiversity because they are a keystone species, a species that many organisms depend on including insects, small mammals and birds.
