You're not alone. I’ve been in “safe” spaces where the boundary was to be kind to those attacking others. I’ve been in “safe” spaces where accommodations were being refused for my disabilities yet leadership would not force the individual denying them to provide them. I’ve experienced a lot of leadership that WANTS to create a safe space but is too conflict-avoidant or too wrapped up in the politics of the space to make it safe.
This is for anyone who has ever felt unheard, unsupported, or gaslit in a place that promised safety.
