Saahil Bhogale was the featured artiste on Kishima Arts Foundation's First Light series. He is a young and talented Hindustani Classical vocalist who is a disciple of Pt. Nishad Bakre.
He began his recital with two compositions in Raag Miyan Ki Todi. The first was a bada khayal in Jhoomra Taal composed by Adarang:
सब निस बर जोरी करत रहत नित बोली ढोली प्यारे अपने गा मे ।
मेरे तो जिया मे सियावत सोही करे हो अदारंग तब ही हमरो नामे ।
This was followed by a chhota khayal in Teen Taal:
पतिया पथकवा मोरे पिया
सन मोरा संदेसा बेगलिया ।
घरी घरी पल पल छिन छिन मेका
जुगसी बितत है बेगलिया सिरी हो छटिया ।
Saahil was accompanied by Shriraj Tamhankar on tabla and Varad Sohani on harmonium. Tanpura and vocal support were provided by Shardul Kane and Atharva Burse.
