Early-morning seminary heroes—this one’s for you! In this throwback-style episode, Ricky, Ryan, and Nikki revisit their original roots to walk through the Doctrine and Covenants 121–123 block—Lessons from Liberty Jail. Together they share practical ways to make familiar lessons on trials, priesthood power, and divine identity feel fresh, Christ-centered, and relevant for today’s youth.

Discover how to anchor your class in scripture context, connect the Liberty Jail experience to real-life faith, and help students see how “all these things shall give thee experience.” You’ll also hear tips on using scenarios effectively, introducing President Nelson’s teachings on divine identity, and helping youth navigate suffering with faith in Jesus Christ.

What We Cover
• Refreshing the “dealing with trials” theme using Elder Holland’s “Lessons from Liberty Jail”
• Making scenarios work—how to connect real life and scripture
• Teaching the power of priesthood principles from D&C 121:36–46
• Finding Christ in affliction (D&C 122:7–9; Alma 7:11–13)
• Helping youth build resilience through spiritual knowledge
• Tying Divine Nature & Eternal Destiny to identity, purpose, and agency

Try This in Class
• Start with a “story-catcher” scenario that links student experience to Liberty Jail context.
• Use a lamp or power-cord visual to teach how righteousness connects to heaven’s power.
• Discuss Elder Holland’s three lessons and connect them to your students’ own Liberty Jail moments.
• End with President Nelson’s “Choices for Eternity” and help youth see who they really are.
