My first multi-night backpacking trip in Nevada literally brought me to new heights with most of the second day spent above 11,000' and summits of both Pyramid Peak(11926'/3635m) and Baker Peak(12293'/3748m). The Baker Lake and Johnson Lake Trails can be combined as a loop hike. The connecting section is a steep route over the ridge between Baker and Johnson Lakes. The ridgetop offers spectacular views in all directions, including the south faces of Wheeler Peak and Baker Peak.
