S9 E4 Uinta Highline Trail (1/3) caching a resupply August 2020
Not many Uinta Highline Trail (UHT) hikers would bother to hang a resupply cache given the logistical difficulty of doing so near a mid-point on the trail. With a weekend in advance of our trip to spare though, I set out to do just that near Five Point Lake a few miles south of Tungsten Lake.
Tungsten Lake is about 45 trail miles west of where we planned to start in at Hacking Lake and roughly 35 trail miles east from our expected endpoint at Highline Trailhead. With this in mind, the trail leading to Tungsten Lake from Center Park Trailhead was the most practical and easily reached mid-point spur trail of the ~80-mile UHT itinerary we had planned.
