Let’s get started with some CPU news. Unfortunately…. It's not really good news. So, alder lake just came out a little while ago, and while the performance is promising, the overall platform cost of a new computer with an intel powered chip is pretty high. A the minimum, you’re spending 200$ on a motherboard, 320$ on your processor, there’s also the premium of having a slightly better cooler, and if push comes to shove, you might want to invest in a better power supply.
All this makes the offering of the competition a little more appealing. You can snag a motherboard that is feature-packed for just 50$ which is instantly 150$ cheaper than the competition… So yeah, AMD is still in the running. Plus, early next year, we’re looking at a new lineup of CPUs that perform better, and might just put AMD back on top for performance. How? Well, architectural improvements, and of course, 3D V cache. The thing that apparently gave Enterprise workloads on epyc cpu’s a boost of 50% in terms of performance when compared to the same cpu’s without the extra cache. On the mainstream platform, a Ryzen 9 cpu could have up to 192MB of L3 cache… That’s insane….
And that’s where the bad news come in. Just like GPU’s, We might hit a pretty big bump in the road in terms of both availability and pricing. That’s because theres a new Kid in town. Earlier this year, the cryptocurrency and platform called raptoreum entered mainnet, its a proof of work kind of crypto currency , and recently , it was discovered that CPU’s with large caches performed better at mining RTM.

![Ryzen 7000 Slows Down the RTX 4000! UPDATE YOUR BIOS!
Today we discuss a bios update that comes up to fix issues between AMD AM5 motherboards for Ryzen 7000 CPUs and Nvidia RTX 4000 series GPU’s. It seems like this update tackles a PCIE Slowdown issue on some X670 Motherboards. We also talk about the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and RTX 4070( I refuse to call it a 4080) performance claims by Nvidia. 500+ FPS in overwatch 2 and that is without the help of frame generation of DLSS 3. ALSO, I GOT AN intel ARC A770!!

Let’s get started with some CPU news. The war of the next generation is coming quite soon. On the AMD side, the company has been talking a whole lot about their Ryzen 7000 series based on the Zen 4 architecture. We know the average IPC increase, we’ve seen some phenomenal clock speeds in gaming, and AMD gave us some idea of what we can expect. Over a 15% increase in Single-threaded performance and Robert Hallock mentioned a 40% increase in the multi-threaded scores. All of these numbers are super impressive, but will it be enough to beat intel again?
I mean intel has been working on raptor lake, but the company hasnt really been advertising this new architecture that much. Instead, we’re left with information coming from leakers and benchmarks of engineering samples. Still, it looks promising. Especially with the leak we have today.
This information comes from Benchleaks over on Twitter, and its a geekbench 5 run of the upcoming 13900K. I just want to add a little grain of salt here before we get into it, because the run does have a warning saying that the timer on the system had a problem so the score is invalid, but I dont think we should discount it completely. In this benchmark, the 13900k scored 2133 points in the single-core section and 23 701 points in the multi-threaded one. That’s an excellent score.

![Intels Raptor Lake Will Have The FIRST 6GHz CPU!
Let’s get started with Nvidia! Now this one is a bit of a nothing burger when it comes to news. Yes, that’s a word. Anyways, the box art and pictures of a next-generation Zotac card just popped up, and its of the RTX 4090. Now, first of all, this GPU looks pretty sick. I kinda got tired of angular design over the past generations, so this flowy, wavy, round design is definitely appreciated. But the second thing that caught my eye is the new font!
The Geforce font has been the same for a decade now. Literally since the GTX 600 series from 2012. And now, its this new updated one. Its a lot more bubbly than I expected honestly and I kinda like it. Once again, a tiny piece of news, but I found it interesting.
Moving one, let’s talk intel, the company is currently holding its tech tour of 2022 in Israel. And they shared some pretty interesting info on the next-gen of cpu’s. First, Raptor lake is literally a baby compared to other architectures. It seems like intel knew that delays would happen for their meteor lake processors, That’s the chip that uses intel’s tile or chiplet system, this one, and because of that, they started working on raptor lake.
Raptor lake wasn’t even on the roadmap until 2 years ago, which is an insanely short amount of time to develop a cpu. Thanks to the backward compatibility with alder lake though, raptor lake was born.
Dr. Ian Cutress who is currently at the event also shared some extra info on the performance numbers. Apparently, raptor lake would have a 41% improvement in multi-core performance, and a 15% improvement when it comes to single-threaded workloads. Given that Intel isn’t changing the architecture as much and are really just doing efficiency tweaks and bumping the frequency, it doesnt look like they’re sandbagging.
