This subscale Antie is meant to test and prove out the systems which will be in the full scale Antie. There will probably be a couple of more videos in the subscale version before I graduate to making the full scale version of the ant.

It uses 3D printing, flexures, and pulleys, along with a crankshaft to actuate all six of its legs. The version I have is currently incomplete, but I'll complete it if I can get one more Patreon subscriber. Ultimatley, I will be able to ride a full scale version of this ant.

It comes off the printer fully functional. It uses flexure instead of fasteners like bearings or axles.

It uses vacuum jamming to create the lip of a suction cup and then vacuum in the internal chamber to suck onto objects. It can be used for grabbing large odd shaped objects. And for gripping to walls.
I did eventually find a research paper with a very similar rig to mine, but there base is not flexible. And they use a rigid suction cup. This version is just the initial proof of concept for the idea of a printer that could even fill up a whole gymnasium if you wanted to. I want to print things the size of boats and this is my first attempt at a tool that can do that.
I'm Adrian Perez, an inventor who loves flexures, robots, 3D printing, and aerodynamics. That's what I'll be posting about on this channel. The goal is to show my many inventions, and hopefully inspire others to really tackle those ideas we all have in the back of our mind.
Paxley is a 3D printed custom pillow I invented. It's made of PLA plastic. Though it's made of hard plastic, it's soft because it has the exact shape of my head in its geometry. This creates a uniform support along the whole point of rest. The pillow is amazingly comfortable given what it's made of.Thumbos Journey: From Flexure Challenges to Universal Joint MasteryAdrian Invents2024-08-02 | Join my Patreon: patreon.com/AdrianPerez720
Thumbo is an upgraded version of my robotic finger "Fingie", which I showcased in a previous video. It uses flexures instead of fasteners like in normal robotic hands. Particularly it utilizes a universal joint at its base, which allows for the full range of motion of a human thumb.
I designed and made this aluminum foil glider you can make from regular kitchen aluminum foil. It uses a Kline Fogelman Airfoil, and can be inflated simply by blowing into it. I made it because I wanted to test out ideas before hydroforming them.

I wanted to use biomimicry to make an electromagnetic version of a muscle fiber. It is similar to a voice coil motor, but has some unique characteristics.

Pro ones use plastic or glass beads. These blankets are sometimes used for people who have autism and other disorders. If also heard it can help with sleep in general. I sewed it using this excellent tutorial I found here: http://www.mamasmiles.com/sewing-tutorial-how-to-make-a-weighted-sensory-blanketHead Tracking Z Map 3D Displacement DemoAdrian Invents2014-04-21 | This is a demo of a python program that creates a 3D effect from a 2D image. It tracks the position of your head and dispaces the image based on a z-map, giving you a 3D effect from head movements. I used OpenCV to do the head tracking.
Using Google's new depth-of-field camera feature, you can extract greyscale zmaps and use them in this tool I built, to create this 3D effect.
To see the 3D effect, you would have to move your head counter to my head in the video, as that picture is the mirror image of my actual head motion.
