The WHOI community welcomed R/V Atlantis home on April 28, 2026— the first time this Office of Naval Research-owned, WHOI-operated global class research vessel has been back to Woods Hole, Mass. since 2022!

The ship is only in port for about six weeks to mobilize for sea trials with the newly-updated crewed submersible Alvin. Both depart on June 8, World Ocean Day!
