Hello you awesome Sonic dudes and welcome
to a brand new rock cover, in which today I'll be
reliving the classic Genesis soundtrack while
producing some Jungle and symphonic vibes in
Rusty Ruins Act 1 and Act 2 from the video game
Sonic 3D Blast the Genesis version.
Rusty Ruins proved to be one of the biggest
challenging covers I had ever worked on not
just because of the multiple instruments I had
implemented but also the number of times I
had to redo some parts of the instrumentation
and the chords in the background so they would
be evenly balanced in terms of audio editing.
Rusty Ruins for the Genesis soundtrack really
showed that it had potential for the Sonic fans
as they were delighted in hearing the Genesis
soundtrack. I love both Saturn and Genesis
versions as they hold a special place in my
heart as a Sonic fan. I wanted to develop
something that would relate to the original as
it's telling a story of Sonic's journey as the
player ventures through the game. It does have
that Tee Lopes-esque vibes but it's also got
a taste of symphonic rock to elevate that track.
This did take me roughly in between 5-6 hours
of editing and progression for each instrument
choices but I was really happy of how it turned out.
