Greetings from Russia! Sometimes you may hear that Russia wants to destroy the United States, and the Russians hate Americans. But in Russia, there are people who like America. However, they have very different causes.
Firstly, some Russians like America because they have visited the United States, but for some reason, have been forced to return to Russia. Now they always remember about America, they are very bored and regret that they had left the country. Russian devastation strongly irritates them.
It looks like a strong infatuation. Imagine that you have just met with the girl. She is smart and beautiful. You want to know her better. She openly flirts with you. But then the evil people kill her in front of you. And the rest of your life you think that she was the only one with which you would be happy.
The situation is similar with these Russians who like America. Perhaps if they had stayed in the US longer, they would be greatly disappointed. But that didn't happen. And now they are stuck at the stage of falling in love and idealizing.
Secondly, some Russians like the United States, although they have never been to America. But these people (Russians who like USA) believe a priori that this is the best country in the world. This is unconditional love, bordering on fanaticism. How is this possible? These people are the victims of liberal propaganda. Or as a child they watched too many American movies and serials which have affected badly on their perception of reality.
Thirdly, the adequate Russians like not all of America, but some parts, which are lacking in Russia. For example, the diversity of opinions, turnover of government, freedom of speech, conscience and entrepreneurship. They want to take all the good things from the United States to life in Russia has become better. And they don't want to abandon the motherland. Russians like America's life standarts.
