What is Russian literature like? In this video I will be talk about Russian literature and russian fiction and discuss unique novels and short stories by some of the greatest Russian fiction writers and russin literary giants and novelists. Russian literature has a rich history so these stories will give you a snapshot view of the culture and its people.

Books discussed:
1:02 A Hero of Our Time by Mikhail Lermontov
2:18 Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol
3:42 White Nights by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
5:05 First Love by Ivan Turgenev
6:17 How Much Land Does A Man Need by Leo Tolstoy
7:35 Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes by Guzel Yakhina

This is part of a Reading the World in which I will be reading books from every country on earth. Join me in my journey as we read and talk about unique novels and stories. Perhaps travelling is more exciting but through reading novels and stories you get to know a few characters and people form each country on a much more intimate level which may not be possible if you visited that country.

I would very much appreciate if you subscribed, shared and liked my videos.
