The Bronze Horseman Monuments in St Petersburg. The St.Petersburg or Bronze Horse Rider's founding monument was created by the French sculptor Étienne Maurice Falconet in 1782. The Bronze Horse Rider's name comes from the same name poem written by Aleksander Pushkin (1833).

The Bronze Monument This Horseman symbolizes Russia's victory over Sweden in the North War (1700-1721): the snake symbolizes the defeated enemy, the horse symbolizes Russia. The base of this monument is the so-called "thunderstone", which was sent to the Senate Square from a small town of Lakhta.
