This transfer is from a British Oriole 78 rpm master pressing. The original American release is Vocalion 1010. Vocalion was owned by Brunswick, who at the time were using the so-called "Light Ray Process", an optical-electric recording system that circumvented the Western Electric patents. It produced very poor results, with noticeable distortion and harshness. I have tried to ameliorate for these issues as far as it is possible to do so. The Oriole has some wear towards the start of the record.
