Here it is, the absolute prog-rock monolith that is Rush's 2112, also holding the title for the longest song Rock Band ever offered by a 3 minute margin. While you can argue that RBN had the potential to dethrone it if artists weren't capped to 10 minutes, I think it's good that 2112 stood as the longest song this game ever offered. I'm not the biggest prog fan, but this album is for sure a rite of passage for any musician or music enthusiast in general. It's crazy to think that this song came out in '76, that's before most rhythm games players' parents were born.
As for the FC itself, it's a Rush chart, on top of being made in the RB3 DLC era, so it didn't really stand a chance of being fair. I'm not saying this chart is reprehensible, but god GHWOR did SO much fucking better. I feel like this chart isn't even something a lot of players bother going for considering it's hardest parts are 13 minutes and 19 minutes in respectively. I did end up choking the fast riff before Solo 6 a few years ago, and didn't feel like touching it again lol. Thankfully, I was able to get essentially 100% consistent at the hard parts so I knew this grind wouldn't be that bad. Unfortunately, this still took 4 runs, with one of them being 10+ minutes in. The worst part? They weren't even skill issue misses, they were misses from trying to look at the path. This song has 25 activations on guitar, so I had to delete text in the middle of the pauses so I was able to keep track of where to act better. That made me miss twice, and one of the misses was from me peeking at it without knowing the tempo on a strumming section was slowing down. I'm very happy to have this out of my way to say the least.

Original Description:
One by Metallica, the 2nd hardest song to FC in Guitar Hero 3...now the only one I have left is Through the Fire and Flames. o.0
This is definitely my best FC ever. I practiced FSA for a long time before going for this, I even created 3999 charts for it, and did my best to build up consistency there. The reason I didnt go for this sooner is because of those stupid strum parts (6:14 and 6:30). The timing for those is weird, so it was hard for me to get consistent. I mean, its hard enough to master FSA, then when you add those weird strum parts on top of it... you have a recipe for a rough time lol.
The worst part of the song though is definitely the transition from the strumming to the Fast Solo A trips. 2nd worst is the orange wall at the end of FSA. 3rd worst is hitting those fast ascending trips. 4th worst is the weird strumming (6:14 and 6:30). Plus you have to make it through over 5 minutes of easy stuff just to attempt it each time. Add 60fps v-sync on top of all that and you can see why I consider this my best FC ever.
Anyway, enough ranting. I hope you all enjoy the video, I know the wait has been too long lol.
P.S. I strongly recommend looking up the meaning behind the lyrics of this song and whatnot, I didnt realize how powerful of a song it is until I really listened to it and read what it was about. Turns out its based off a dark novel/movie called “Johnny Got His Gun”
