Hi butterflies!!!

Here's my final VC project for this semester!!! All that's left is 2 art history exams and then I'll be fully on summer break!!
So for this project I had to make a 2-3 minute animation on a person from flagstaff. From the list, I chose Georgie White Clark and came up with this idea for my animations. I wanted something simplistic—so it'd be easy for me to draw after the beast that was the Winter's Fire Teaser and I thought a style similar to storytime or explainer videos would work well—so I kept all the forms simple shapes. When I was doing a second pass of the character design I was watching a drawfee video where they were drawing based off newspaper cartoon captions, youtu.be/fJ0sk8MoKp8, and I loved Karina's simple chibi style so I used that as inspiration as well. But also I already had a newspaper animation in the video so I thought why not lean into that, so I laid out the images and videos like a newspaper. And I tried to emulate newspaper style cartoons with the lined backgrounds and hatching shading. I also had the text along the bottom to act as the newspaper captions. Overall, I'm happy with how this turned out. It wasn't my favorite project, but I think mine works well for what it is and I'm pleased with the end result.

Also this is for the NAU Special Collections. Most of the information and all pictures and videos credited to them.
