Hi butterflies!!!
Maybe it's a cruel joke from the universe that I finished this the day before Vane died. He died 3/4/21, Tuesday. When I first got him 3 days after he showed signs of Ich, nothing in my tank is new and this was never something Teach had so I'm certain he came with it. I looked up how to treat it and within a week it was gone or so I thought. About 2 weeks after it showed back up. I read this is a possibility if it's not actually totally gone the first time. I thought I had gotten rid of it, but at least I knew how to treat it and prolong the treatment to make sure it's totally gone. So I started doing the same treatment and it still wasn't going away. The medicine I used the first time for some reason wasn't getting rid of it and in a week he stopped eating. He didn't eat for about a week, then he got better. He started eating again making bubblenests. I kept with his tank at a high temp and got a new medicine. The ich never got out of control the most he ever had was 5 dots. So like I said he'd been doing totally fine and that lasted for about a week or 2. Then on Tuesday night I saw him start zipping around the tank, freaking out. I quickly gave him a 25% water change because I didn't know what was wrong and then in a minute he was gone. He was doing fine eating and making bubblenests, so I don't know why he passed away. He showed no signs of dropsy or any other disease I could see. The ich was just barely around. I checked his water while he was freaking out and it was all fine. His temp. wasn't too high. I have no idea why he died, but I'm not getting another betta fish. I have to be doing something wrong and I don't know what. I can't lose another one and it breaks my heart too much. I really miss my two little dudes, they brought me so much joy and I wish I could've done better by them. They deserved better.
Anyway, a little about the actual animation. My mom had an idea back when I had Teach of Butterfly running next to a river with him. I thought it was a super cute idea and would work well for a new on screen animation. I never got around to it while Teach was alive, then when I got Vane I decided I'd do it and add him as well. I also added the little jumps to the idea. I had a lot of fun while making this and I like the end result. I'm still messing with the green screen so if it looks a bit weird for the first few videos with it, that's why. That's all I got. Swim in peace my little dudes, you'll always live on here.
