As the gap between major updates for Team Fortress 2 gets larger, the community has stepped in to provide where Valve has not. Recent endeavors like the Creators.TF community servers offer lots of custom game content, such as maps, cosmetics, and much more. These servers are gaining massive amounts of popularity in recent times, so why not take advantage of this to run your own game server? Using this guide, you can set up your own VPS (Virtual Private Server) to host a TF2 server on Ubuntu/Linux complete with custom maps for a mere $5 per month, even with no prior Linux experience or knowledge!
