Run Orc Run is a short animation I submitted to the BlizzCon 2016 Movie Contest, it's a simple story about an Orc who steals a precious Night Elven artifact and attempts to escape through the Ashenvale forest, with Night Elf rangers hot on his heels.
I spent about 2 months on this project, in the evenings and weekends and any spare time I could spare, just so I could meet the deadline for the contest.
However, there's been no news about winners, and with a week until the con I have to assume this entry didn't win :( Hat's off to the real winners though :)
All the models and characters from this animation were taken from the game World of Warcraft and exported using the WowModelViewer, a fantastic piece of software that allows you to see all the assets that the talented artists have created.
I then imported those models into Maya and tweaked, textured, rigged, animated, lit, and rendered them, before sending those finished images into After Effects for compositing.
The music and sound effects were created by the awesome Scott Morgan at - youtube.com/Morganstudios
