Digital cameras came too late to record all the ditties this lady knew. This is the only one I am putting up here.
The Lyrics. Excuse the stab at the spelling if I've got that wrong.
Oh! There's Sally Minger,
My fat finger,
Oh! Cock-a-lorum Sam,
Oh! Cock-a-lorum,
Oh! Cock-a-lorum,
Oh! Cock-a-lorum Sam.
He gave me a glass of water,
I thought it very fine
And as I was drinking it*(1)
I was singing all the time.
Oh! Sally Minger,
My fat finger,
Oh! Cock-a-lorum Sam,
Oh! Cock-a-lorum,
Oh! Cock-a-lorum,
Oh! Cock-a-lorum Sam.
There obviously more verses and the song dates back to at least the early to mid 1930's and is probably older. The place it was sung was near Feltham to the west of London. *(1) A stab at what was missing, the, "Something or other."
